A comprehensive restoration of a 5‑acre property featuring architectural hardscapes, native floral integration, and a custom irrigation system. The project transformed an overgrown, underutilised estate into a year‑round sanctuary that harmonises with the Connecticut landscape.
We partnered with the owners to preserve century‑old oaks while introducing curated garden rooms, bluestone terraces, and a sustainable drainage solution. The result is a seamless blend of form and ecology — a living work of art.

Transformation in frames
The challenge
The sloped terrain suffered from erosion, outdated drainage, and an invasive species overgrowth. The clients wanted to maintain the property’s historic charm while introducing modern outdoor living areas — including an entertainment terrace, natural swimming pond, and kitchen garden.
Our approach
We began with regenerative grading and installed a hidden drainage matrix. Over 200 native perennials and grasses were planted to support local biodiversity. A team of masons crafted dry-laid stone walls echoing the original estate walls. The centrepiece is a bluestone patio with an integrated fire bowl, overlooking the newly sculpted meadow.

All plants are drought‑tolerant once established; rainwater harvested for irrigation.
Minimal maintenance
Perennial meadows require only one annual cut – low upkeep, high impact.
